Another step up the ladder

August 28, 2008

Hey,

Just as I promised yesterday, I've got some powerful ideas
for you.

But I'll again remind you that ideas aren't anything
special until you put them into action.

I know I've told you before about setting goals and making
an action plan to get there. And I'm reminding you again
because it's that damn important.

-What do you want to achieve?
-When do you want to reach this goal? (be realistic here)
-Where are you at now?
-What needs to be done to get from point A (now) to point B
(the end goal)?

It's really simple stuff, but it doesn't amount to more
than some scribble on a page unless you take action.

Last year I finished 11th at the Ontario's strongest Man
competition. My goal was to be top 10 but I fell short. I
absolutely hated haveing to answer questions about it
because it was less than where I wanted to be. (I like to
be the best)

So I took action. I knew I wanted to be in the top 5 in
2008. I knew I had to do a lot of improving. And I buried
my head in my training for 1 full year. (Great success
doesn't happen overnight).

The payoff for that full year of hard work and planning has
paid off. I was 2nd in Ontario this year, I went to the
open Canada's Strongest Man and placed 11th (I'm okay with
11 at this level because my plan didn't have me at CSM
until 2010)

And I'm also Canada's Strongest lightweight after winning
the 105kg Nationals. And I even got an interview on a
fitness website. Check it out:

I set my goal and put a plan into action.

Over the course of the Bejing summer games, I've made many
references to the work, planning and drive of the olympic
athletes and how we can all take a lesson from them.

Another thing I noticed was all these athletes had a great
coach or coaches helping them find their way to gold.

Why don't you let us be your coach and help you on your
path to gold (reaching your goals)

I want to you to feel the great feeling of achieving a
great success.

Speaking of great success. I want to give a congratulatory
shout out to one of UF's personal training clients.

Ellynne Dickson has been a long time client of mine and
just this past weekend she won her club championship golf
tournament.
Good work Ellynne.
One of Ellynne's training goals was to have her improved
fitness help her become a better golfer. Mission
accomplished!

Just another reminder, this week is your last chance to
sign up for bootcamp and/or personal training at our
rediculously low prices. We are raising all the pricing by
$1 per session on Sept 1st.

Take action NOW!

See you at the gym
