Are you Responsible?

May 23, 2008

Hey

Yesterday I had a discussion with my co-op student about
responsibility.
He has a serious issue with it.

I explained to him my opinions that a responsible, "go
getter" type person is often the most desired employee and
often very succesful at whatever they do.

This very same lesson is so incredibly true in the fitness
world also.

The people that we see getting the most success are:
1)Taking responsibilty for their trainig and eating
habbits.
2)Aproaching there training with a positive, "go get'em"
attitude.
3)Don't try and make excuses for why they aren't living the
way they need to in order to reach the physical goals they
have set.

It seems to me that lately nobody wants to take
responsibility for their actions. Whether it's something
they've done or something they're not doing.

Here's my aproach to being more responsible for my
training, eating and performance endeavors.
1)If things go wrong, I try not to place blame or make and
excuse. I instead try and figure out where I let myself
down.

2) Instead of complaining about the problem, I try to take
action towards finding a solution to the failure and doing
it better the next time.

3)I ask for help if I can't seem to correct the problem
facing me, on my own.

Notice that I said that I'm always TRYING. Nobody is
perfect and we don't often get it right the first time.
And I make sure I ask for help from someone that has more
experience and/or knowledge than I do, and sometimes that
means hiring and paying for peoples expertise.

I know what my goals are and I'm willing to do whatever I
need to do. I'm trying to be responsible.

How about you? What have you done today to get yourself
closer to your goals?

Stay strong and have a good weekend.
