Hey, I hope you enjoyed the weekend weather as much as I did. I'm so glad things are warming up. The warm weather also means swim suit season is just around the corner. You better be putting a plan into action now if you haven't started already. As promised, I will give you the low-down on how to most effectively use your protein. (Hopefully you've taken advantage of the crazy deal we have on chocolate 5lbs for $49.99) The first and most important meal of the day is breakfast. We should all know this by now. But even though we know it, doesn't mean we always have time for a solid meal. This is where the convenience of protein powder can save your day. Mix up a shake real quick as you fly out the door, late for whatever. Protein powder can also come in handy as a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack. Again the convenience of being able to mix some water and powder in a shaker cup can be a big help when you're busy at work, school or on the road. This next one is big. POST-TRAINING. After you train, your body wants fuel. And it wants it now! Protein shakes are the best choice for post-training nutrition because they are quickly digested and absorbed into you body. Nothing comes close to the benefit of drinking a whey protein shake post-training. Those are the key times to use this super convenient and effective tool. But you can implement a shake anytime you need to. It's all up to you. The only caution I will give you is this; don’t make protein shakes the centerpiece of your nutrition plan. You have to eat whole foods. Use shakes to fill in the gaps. Just in case you feel like getting out and watching some top-notch strongman action. I will be competing at the Petawawa sportsman show strongman contest this coming Sunday April 27th 2008. The action starts at 1pm. I would love to see you out, if you can make it.
