Getting Stronger to Live Longer!

January 30, 2008

I would like to encourage everyone, especially older
individuals to come in and increase their strength.

"But I don't want to be a powerlifter." "That's not for
me, I'll just get hurt."
These are 2 of the most common responses I get when I talk
about the benefits of maintaining and increasing strength.

Let me give you 5 reasons to get stronger.

1) Greater Autonomy- Maintaining leg and torso strength
will help keep you mobile much later in life.
If you can't get up out of your chair, lift groceries into
your car and climb the stairs, your independence can slip
away sooner than you think.

2) Enjoy the things you enjoy- Staying strong will allow
you to remain active in all the past-times that keep you
feeling young and alive.
What if you couldn't play a round of golf, go for a hike,
go swimming, work on your garden?

3) Better Mood- Exercise activities cause your body to
release chemicals called endorphins. Endorphins help keep
your mood positive and feeling vigorous.
Increased strength also gives you great self confidence.

4)More Energy- The stronger you are, the easier everyday
life becomes.
Regular exercise also helps you sleep better and is a great
stress reliever.

5) A Clear Mind- Exercise not only excites you body, but
has been found to keep the mind sharp and clear.

So how do you get on your way to getting stronger?

It's important that you learn how to do it safely and
effectively.

Enlisting the guidance of a professional is a good starting
point.

One of our personal training packs is a sure shot to
