Are you happy with your training???

January 18, 2008

Just the other day, I had only 2 bootcampers show up for
one of our evening sessions.

They came in about 2 minutes apart and didn't see each
other, but they both made the same comment to me on the way
in. "If I'm the only one here, I'm not doing the class."

Now, to me this sounds foolish. Through my eyes, being the
only person to show up for a group class is a huge bonus.

It's a personal training session, at group-fit prices.

It's one on one instruction.

It's a chance to improve your weak points with individual
supervision.

It's a lot of great things, but what it isn't, (which I
didn't realize, until one of the group members told me her
opinion) is a GROUP ENVIRONMENT.

I now look at it in a whole new light.

It's the atmosphere, the comraderie and the motivation from
your fellow bootcampers that makes this class what it is.

Taking yourself down that "extra mile", getting "one more
rep" and pushing your body towards your goals, is a little
easier when you're doing it side by side with people who
are there for the same reasons you are.

I want to tip my hat to all the dedicated bootcampers, who
have stuck it out and are now enjoying the leaner,
healthier bodies that they have earned with plain and
simple hard work.

What are your goals?

"losing some weight" is not a definitive goal.

"losing 3-4 inches from my waist and being able to fit into
a smaller size of pants by March 1st", now that's a
definitive goal.

"To be able to do 10 chin-ups and Bench press my bodyweight
for 10 reps by April 1st" is also a very clear goal.

I'm a firm believer that if you have a definitive goal, the
path to those goals becomes clear.

It may not be an easy path, but at least you know where
you're going.

If you have no idea what your goals should be, Sarah and I
would be more than happy to help you develop goals and help
you with your training along the path to those goals.

Who's lookin' out for you?
