Ooops. The date was actually the 26th, I messed up. Everyone gets the idea though.

Ok, so I am not the bragging type, but I know Shane is, so I thought I mine as well get this thread going.

Best Squat: 117.5 kg (260lbs) P.R.
-went up pretty easy, probably left something on the platform on that one. Even the spotter told me to put some more weight on next time. Unfortunately, it was my third attempt because I started out pretty conservatively not knowing what to expect. Oh well, live and learn.

Best Bench: 75 kg (165.5lbs)
-went up pretty easy 1st time but got called on a technicality (?) tried the second time and for some reason it just stopped (wtf?), then the 3rd time I got it no problems. Good thing I did or my day would have finished right there. I probably would have cried. Not gonna lie.
Could have handled more weight for sure.

Best Dead Lift: 142.5 kg (316.4lbs)
-went up no problem, went up to 145 kg (321.9lbs) and got it up ok, but got 3 red lights for a hitch. That lift would have won me the meet, but no dice.
Second place is the first loser they say...

So, to sum it up I had a good time, put up some good numbers, got a trophy, and now that my first meet is out of the way, I look forward to the next one.

Oh, and the buffet at the Mandarin was a for sure highlight after dieting AND fasting. Ate sooo much.
Still suffering from THAT though.... ugh.

And Paul is the most rugged man I have ever met. He's my favourite powerlifter.
*And at this point I am trying to figure out how Paul can edit MY posts for the purpose of contributing to his own high confidence levels and enlarged ego....

The meet was a blast. We are very proud of Sarah's performance. And a big congrats to Shane, Setting some PR's and winning the 110kg class.

My squatting was great, I suprised myself with the way things went.

I opened conservatively, not knowing what to expect in terms of the judging. The First one was 529lbs and I was very comfortable with this as I've hit 550 in the gym previously.
Then I jumped up to 561 and it also flew up real nice.
600.7 was the 3rd attempt. I wouldn't say it was easy, but I knew when I took it out that I was getting another PR that day.

Benching didn't go so well. I have always had trouble getting weight to touch with the shirt on.
I opened at 385 and got it down but it was a struggle to get the touch and when I came up, it came up uneven and I got 3 reds.
The second attempt was at 407. The plan was to take more weight to help get the bar down easier. It worked well, I got it down and pressed it up easily, but I again got 3 reds because it touched too low on my chest. That's the rules and I broke em.
The third attempt was all or nothing. I again took 407. THis time I tried to bring it down fast and hard up high on the chest, but ended up dumping it back on my face.
And you could hear my heart break as the spotters lifted the bar off me. My day was over.

It's too bad I didn't get to deadlift. I was really feeling it that day for the dead, and being my favourite lift, I knew I was gonna get a PR.
I pulled a 600 in the warm-up room just for kicks. It was easy as pie and I did it cold with no belt.

Overall a great trip. The Niagara club runs an amazing meet. Very proffessional, very friendly.

I will now be focusing on Strongman but hope to hit another meet in fall.

They wouldn't let me DL. (I think they were just scared the new guy would have the biggest DL of the day) (I'm just kidding, don't poop in your pants)

Sorry, I can't figure out how to make them links. You'll have to cut and paste them into your browser.

i am the bragging type sarah you are so right... and first i would like to thank David hilton aurthor droeske for being our gear bitch.. he did a great job... i would also like to thank sarah and paul for everything they have done for me in my training and I would liek to apologize to sarah again for having to put up with 3 fat bastards snorring in her ear for 2 nights
... i went in weighing about 233 so i was good and under weight so i didnt have to cut at all which was nice...
first up was the squat... i was squating in my sqaut suit for about the 3rd time and i wasnt really sure what it was going to do to me... to put it bluntly it kicked the crap out of me... i opened with 551 lbs and they set my bar height to high and i could barely get the bar out of the rack... took it out and it felt good but i got 2 reds for not reaching depth...
second attempt was 573 and it felt the same as the first but it was good..
the next one i jumped to 617 and brought down really slow and as everybody knows slow down means no up... and i almost fell but got caught by the spotters....

next was the bench... opened with 385 and felt really good 3 whites and a good lift.... my next 2 lifts were pretty much the same lift... first was 407 and then 418... they went down good and touched easy, came off the chest good... but had nothing for the lock out on both...

last was the deadlift... at this point i found out that paul was out and all i needed to do is hit my first deadlift and i had the title all wrapped out, because i had a huge lead on the second place guy... i opened with 501 and nailed it easy... and was jacked cause i knew that i had won the meet at this point..YAHH!! anyway after that i went to 535 and 551 and they both went up really well and finished with a 685 kg total (1510 lbs) i throughly enjoyed this experience... i met alot of great people and learned alot of stuff... i cant wait for the next meet... which isn't for a while but i want to quilify for provincals this year and then make elite status in the 110kg class
