The most common thing that I hear from the members in the gym is “Oh, I can’t do that!” while watching Paul or I put one of our personal training clients through an average strenuous session.
This baffles me!
Yes, everyone has different capabilities when it comes to exercising. Some people push themselves in the gym, and other just plain don’t know how. Most people just find something easy to do just to say that they were there.
The beauty of personal training is that it is custom fit for each individual person. And this means that you will be getting the best work out you could possibly get for that 50 minutes.
So you can’t perform a push up? Does this mean that you can’t hire a personal trainer? Absolutely not! Why not hire a personal trainer to help you achieve the goals that you have convinced yourself that you are incapable of doing? Does this not make sense to anyone else but me?!!!
So, to answer the question of “Who is a possible personal training client?”
Every single person in the gym would benefit from personal training. Guaranteed.
From the middle age man, to the 65 year old grandmother, to the young aspiring athlete. All of them could benefit to some coaching and motivation in their work outs. Myself included benefits from a personal training. That’s right, Paul helps me with my weight sessions 4 times a week, and I am getting the results I want. Just having him there to spot me and give me ques while I am lifting helps me to push myself that little bit harder, and to push out that extra rep. It’s obviously working, as my powerlifting career has gone from novice to National level within a year.
So, maybe the question should be: “Why haven’t I hired a personal trainer yet?”
Good question.
